PREPARE TO GET MESSY ON NEW YEAR’S DAY AT THE SCIENCE CENTER VISITORS ARE INVITED TO START 2020 WITH MESSFEST TRADITION

MessFest, Carnegie Science Center’s one-of-a-kind tradition to kick off the New Year, is back! Free with general admission, the 14th annual messy celebration returns on Wed., Jan. 1 and features the slimiest, yuckiest, and gooiest activities for visitors of all ages. From 10 am to 5 pm, visitors get hands-on (literally) with the gooey substance Oobleck, share their creative side with finger painting, and enjoy a pudding “Pi” eating contest. The Egg Drop activity invites visitors to engineer a package for raw eggs that will protect their “egg-stronauts” as the eggs hurtle over a two-story drop. It’s fun for the whole family and, best of all, parents don’t have to clean up after their kids! Visitors are advised: You WILL get messy, so don’t dress up! Along with activity tables, visitors can experience high-energy, grossly entertaining programs in the Science Center’s BodyStage, presented by Allegheny Health Network. Andrew's 134th, the Borough's 125th, Carnegie's Maid -- all at the Carnegie Carnegie!

Monday, November 25, 7:00 pm  Come to the Carnegie in Carnegie as they celebrate Andrew Carnegie's 134th Birthday!  Best-selling author Marie Benedict will be there to talk about her historic novel, Carnegie's Maid.  The novel spins the compelling tale of the industrialist's transformation into the world's first and perhaps most renowned philanthropist. A dessert reception with Ms. Benedict follows the performance.  Penguin Bookstore will be on hand with a number of her novels.   Tickets are $10, $5 for youth 12 and under.
