Get a Head Start on New Year's Eve with Roger Humprhies and the RH Factor

Roger Humphries and the RH Factor's Tribute to Art Blakey
Special Guest: Brazilian Vocalist Kenia

Friday, December 27, 8:00 p.m.
Jazz drummer Roger Humphries is a household name in Pittsburgh. Deservedly so!  Music critics rate him one of the most exciting percussionists in the business today.
Roger credits Art Blakey with teaching him how to swing.

Blakey, born in Pittsburgh in 1919, had a profound influence on mainstream jazz. Purportedly, Blakey started his music career on piano, but was persuaded –  at gunpoint –  to switch to drums.  A club owner who wanted to clear the piano for a young Erroll Garner.  However he found his way to drums, Blakey went on to jazz greatness with his band, the Jazz Messengers.

The performance will be followed by a dessert reception in the Lincoln Gallery. Enjoy a complimentary prosecco toast (21+).  Wine and beer by donation, thereafter.

Tickets: $25 in advance; $30 at the door; Youth 12 and under $10
