The Smithsonian American Art Museum’s nationally traveling exhibition, African American Art in the 20th Century, opens Feb. 16 at The Westmoreland, and this Act 48 Workshop will focus on how art can be used to teach African American history. A special emphasis will be placed on Pennsylvania’s Black history.

This three-hour ACT 48 workshop will include

a historical presentation
opportunities to apply these findings back to classroom practice
a packet with images and information on the artists in the exhibition.

Saturday, November 9, 2019 Havdalah begins at 6:15; Play begins at 7:30 Cathedral of Learning  (4200 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15213) and Carnegie Library Lecture Hall (4400 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15213) J oin the Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh this Saturday for its commemoration of the 81st anniversary of Kristallnacht. This year, for our annual commemoration of Kristallnacht, we are proud to present the play Etty. Prior to the play, we invite you to join us in marking the end of Shabbat with Havdalah and a candlelight vigil through the Lest We Forget exhibit.
