Act 48 Workshop: Teaching African American History

ACT 48 Workshop: 5:30-8:30pm

The Smithsonian American Art Museum’s nationally traveling exhibition, African American Art in the 20th Century, opens Feb. 16 at The Westmoreland, and this Act 48 Workshop will focus on how art can be used to teach African American history. A special emphasis will be placed on Pennsylvania’s Black history.

This three-hour ACT 48 workshop will include

a historical presentation
opportunities to apply these findings back to classroom practice
a packet with images and information on the artists in the exhibition.
